Today, data are critical to the continued operation of your business, so they are stored in multiple locations. Linking these sites allow your organization to use them as one.
Connect Wave connects your various data locations with ultra-high speed, up to 100Gbps guaranteed, and very low-latency enabling your real-time data replication or linking server cluster. Redundant and diversified connections are available on request.
cegecom s.a. (“cegecom”) provides the customer with a symmetrical end-to-end connection, within the existing technical and operational framework.
WDM transmits multiple optical carrier signals by using different wavelengths. This enables Connect Wave to maximize capacity when transmitting data via fibre optic cable. Data rates of up to 100 Gbit/s are possible.
cegecom reserves the right, where necessary, to realise the fibre optic line via third parties. Individual features may incur a charge, depending on the product and product variant. Below is a description of the services and features of Connect Wave.
In order to combine the advantages of network technology with those of computer bus systems Connect Wave offers powerful Fibre channel technology at speeds of 2Gbit/s, 4Gbit/s and 8Gbit/s as standard. This technology is designed for serial, continual high-speed transmission of large quantities of data. Fibre channel is the preferred network technology for connecting CPUs and bulk storage into SAN (Storage Area Networks) across large distances.
Bandwidth denotes the throughput (in Gbit/s) of the connection or physical interface (UNI/UNI) at Layer 1. Connect Wave provides symmetric guaranteed bandwidths. The maximum symmetrical bandwidths can be found in the following table:
Product variant | Symmetrical bandwidth |
---|---|
Connect Wave 1G | 1 GBit/s |
Connect Wave 2G Fibre-channel | 2 GBit/s |
Connect Wave 4G Fibre-channel | 4 GBit/s |
Connect Wave 8G Fibre-channel | 8 GBit/s |
Connect Wave 10G | 10 GBit/s |
Connect Wave 100G | 100 GBit/s |
cegecom manages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week its own network to ensure maximum performance for your business critical applications.
All access systems deployed by cegecom guarantee a frame size of up to 9218 Byte. Gross throughput relates to the data rate (incl. Ethernet Frame, Preamble, Start Frame Delimeter and Inter Frame Gap) transmitted to Layer 1 in a defined transmission period in Gbit/s.
Net throughput relates to the Ethernet data rate (excl. Preamble, Start Frame Delimeter and Inter Frame Gap) transmitted to Layer 2 in a defined transmission period in Gbit/s. The table below shows the maximum throughputs (gross/net) depending on the frame size.

For Fibre-channel cegecom guarantees a frame size of up to 2148 Byte. Gross throughput relates to the data rate (incl. Frame Header, CRC error check, start- and end frame) transmitted to Layer 1 in a defined transmission period in Gbit/s.
Net throughput relates to the Fibre-channel data rate (excl. start- and end frame) transmitted to Layer 2 in a defined transmission period in Gbit/s. The table below shows the maximum throughputs (gross/net) depending on the frame size.
